Veg in Beds 2010
Some vegetables were harvested aren't they wonderful!

As part of our campaign recently to get everyone in and around Saltash growing at least a few of their own vegetables the Town Council gave us permission to plant vegetables and herbs amongst the flowers in all the town planters in Fore St.We followed this up with a competition 'Spot the Veg in Beds'.
The most difficult to guess proved to be the parsnip, kale and in particular the tarragon (which now has lovely blue flowers on it) and in fact no one got everything right!Thank you to all who took the time to enter the competition,We hope you had fun!
The competition has now ended and the 5 winners (3 children and 2 adults) have received their prizes. Our thanks to Cornish Farm Produce for the lovely basket of fruit they generously donated and to the Co-op for further generous help with prizes. The best entries were put into, and pulled out of, a hat!
Our thanks to the nearby shops who are acting as guardians and making sure the beds nearest their shops are watered and looked after.
